There are many ways to get involved in the YMCA of Canberra Runners Club as a Volunteer. All club races and events that we conduct rely on volunteers helping out in roles such as registrations, timekeeping, drinks stations, safety at road crossings and other roles. The races can only run when people volunteer to turn up and help!
The Club's daily operations are also run by a Committee of Club Volunteers who are elected each year.
The Club has a contract with Fairfax Events to support the Australian Running Festival (ARF) and the Canberra Times Fun Run, through providing strategic advice and filling a range of roles including lead and sag wagon drivers, lead cyclists and marshals. This is a way in which the club raises funds for its own activities. We are currently recruiting volunteers for the 2018 ARF which is being held 14-15 April. In addition to these volunteer roles, we are also providing pacers for the 10 km Fun Run. Please contact us at Admin.firstname.lastname@example.org if you are able to assist in any of these roles.
The Club also offers our volunteer services for large races being conducted in Canberra such as the Australian Running Festival. This is a way in which the club raises funds for its own activities. We are currently recruiting volunteers for the 2017 ARF being held on 8-9 April. Further details are available here.
Volunteering opportunities will be advertised in our newsletter and also posted on this website and on facebook.
Keep an eye out!
