YMCA Canberra Half Marathon
The YMCA of Canberra 2017 Rex Foulkes Half Marathon will be held on Sunday 28 May, starting at 8.00 am from Lennox Gardens, Flynn Drive, Yarralumla (opposite the Hyatt Hotel). This race has been a major annual event in the calendars of YCRC members and other local and interstate runners and the tradition continues. There are also 1.6 km and 5 km events on Saturday afternoon.
Rex Foulkes, in whose memory this event is named, was a local distance runner who died in a road accident returning to Cooma from Canberra after a race in 1970. The first Rex Foulkes Half Marathon was held on 13 September 1970 and had just 24 finishers. In 2015 there were 458 entrants. This race is a Senior Distance Runner of the Year pointscore event.
Early Bird entries are available until midnight 7 May 2017 with entries $40 for YCRC members and $60 for non-members.
Standard Registration will be open online until midnight Thursday 25th May with entries $60 for YCRC members and $80 for non-members. Entries will also be taken at Lennox Gardens from 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm on Saturday 27 May.

Bib collection is available from 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm on Saturday 27 May or from 7.00 am Sunday 28 May from the race start and finish area in Lennox Gardens.
