In late 2018, the YMCA Canberra Runners Club took ownership of the iconic Capital to Coast event from the Nowra Athletics Club. In 2019 the first YMCA Canberra Capital to Coast was held.
Thank you to all sponsors, participants and volunteers.
Due to the combined impact of COVID-19 and the summer bushfires, the decision has reluctantly been taken to not conduct the Capital to Coast event in 2020. We will be back in 2021, so watch this space for further details.
Please visit the event website for further information.
About Capital to Coast
Capital to Coast (C2C) is a 100km multistage event held from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon at various locations between Canberra, ACT, and Huskisson, NSW. The event consists of a prologue on the Friday, four stages on the Saturday and a further four stages on the Sunday. Stages range from 7km to 16km in length.
Capital to Coast can be run individually, in pairs or teams of three or four. Pairs and Teams can allocate stages between team members at their own discretion.
The commencement of each stage is organised as a mass start of all runners competing in the stage. Runner and relay team times for the event are calculated as the sum of the elapsed time for each stage of the event. Participants (and support crew) are responsible for transport from the completion of a stage to the start of the next stage. Participants are also responsible for their own accommodation.
